The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
I hope you did get some sleep. I find mindfulness, meditation and body scans to help calm my mind, then read or watch a tv series if I still can't sleep...

I probably go an hour or two. I'll have to find some way of trying to ease my mind way before I go to bed, as I'm not the best sleeper anyway. I've been looking into a meditation app
Wandering minds can be problematic when trying to sleep I find the radio helps as the music provides a focus.
