Ah pf, isolation and economy are separate issues (though there can be a link). People become isolated because they become ill, not always mentally ill either; they lose family; no sense of community etc.

The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
