Tonights counselling session was on career progression. There is one course I could do but it would cost £7k! It is degree equivalent though so could get me a decent job with the NHS...

    Decisions, decisions!

That is a lot! Are there any grants etc?
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

It's an advanced diploma in relational psychotherapeutic counselling and takes 3 years part-time, so it's a higher level than the one at the local college. Bonus is it's said to be very good for getting a job in the NHS afterwards and it starts in January. Downside is the cost and it's travelling over an hour to get there. I need to try and pass my test.

It's something like 8 weekends a year, Fri, Sat, Sun. Plus 40 hours personal counselling per year, and from year 2, 40 hours supervision a year and over 400 counselling hours. I will definitely have to miss one weekend next year as I'm getting married, don't know if I've mentioned that , and I should be able to get a placement closer to home. I maybe need to look at funding first and try and work it out.

It's the 1:1 counselling that's the tough financial bit. I know that as it's one of the options for a doctorate, but that was just so bad and SFE only give a blanket amount which is no where near what you need to cover it!

But hold on... You're getting married? No way! That's so exciting! I wish you'd mentioned it!
