I have bought 3 balls of wool and a crochet hook and I am going to attempt to learn how to crochet!! I've discovered that hobbycraft runs a knitting/crochet group on a Tuesday night which you can just drop into, they provide tea and coffee and the women there, I'm told, have a wealth of experience and are more than happy to help newbies!! You just go along with your current project - sounds good!

Ok, this year I promised to teach myself to crochet. At the weekend I 'mastered' casting on and chain stitch - at least enough for me to contemplate single crochet. I've been working on it all afternoon - with the book and you tube vid. I have finally produced something. It doesn't look much like the one in the vid but I think that's more to do with keeping tension the same than anything else. I WILL get this (I may be some time ......)

You've made much more progress than me, I can do the chain stitch but can get to grips with anything else. I just can't figure it out!!

If you go onto you tube, Dolly, and search for sewfie, she has some brilliant and straight forward vids posted there. I couldn't get it either until I watched the video
