Is this term the first time that this book has been in operation or has it been used for your course for years? Just thinking that maybe someone has one and no longer needs it which might be languishing and gathering dust in their attic or something.
It's used for all 3 years of the course so money wise it would be worth it, it's just the initial outlay.
