Anniversaries are so hard. How long ago did he pass away? It's good that you're spending the day with Mum. You both seem so close.
Can you talk to your managers and see if you can pause the increase in hours?
Do you have anything nice planned for today?

Hope you got some sleep and today is a bit easier for you.
I know I struggle a bit more when my mum's anniversary approaches.

It has been 27 years since my Dad passed - he got cancer and died very quickly when I was 7. It was a truly horrible thing to happen but I still had a wonderful childhood thanks to my Mum. It is very sad my Dad did not have a long life but he achieved so much in his short life which was a huge success in so many ways. Another cruel thing is he died on my Mum's birthday and she cannot celebrate it.

Today has been quite difficult and I ended up having a long sleep this afternoon. Just going to take work one day at a time.

Thank you for all of your ongoing support.

Take work one day at a time or one hour or task at a time. You will get through it.
My husband lost his father when he was 7, there are times he finds it harder than others. His anniversary has just passed and he definitely is a bit more melancholy.
At least your mum has you to spend the day with her, you can remember your dad and still be thankful for the day your mum was born. By the sounds of it she is a special lady and is worth celebrating.

Just about to start work for the day - I am working from home today. Going to do two 3 hour blocks I think to do my six hours.

I am also speaking to my GP this morning.

I’m glad you’re speaking to your GP.

Are you able to do 3 2 hour slots, if you can’t drop your hours?
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

I'm glad you're talking to your GP.

I'm sorry your Mum doesn't get to celebrate her birthday - could you celebrate her 1/2 birthday instead?

I don't think she would - anything to do with her is linked to my Dad's passing for her. I try and compensate her on mother's day accordingly.

I have completed my first day at work and it feels good to have gotten it done - I only have 3 six hour days before a 3 day weekend. It was much better than last week and I feel hopeful of the week continuing in such a good vein.

My mood is still a bit low but small steps forward.
