My niece in London is slowly getting better. She tested positive early last week and has been in isolation since. She has been working in a red zone since all this started, so she has been very lucky up to now.

Anybody going to be clapping for Sir Tom tonight. I really don’t see the point personally. I’d much rather use his example to remind me to be a better person and think of others. Challenge myself to help those who deserve more.

I'm not sure about the clapping. I know the monthly challenges that I do are planning on doing one for him later this year where the money goes to the NHS...

He was a wonderful man there's no doubt about that. If he was to have his funeral here the politicians would be queuing up to be seen at it. A's if his goodness might run off on them. Sorry folks it doesn't work like that.
A's for standing on my door step clapping, I don't think it does much good. Honor him in a better way by being the nice person. Let someone go in front of you in a queue, hold the door for someone (knit a carrot, ha ha).
The world is a very stressful place atm, just be kind.

Worded so much better than me. We need more Sir Tom’s in this world. Smashing fella and I’m sure his family are incredibly proud of him for all he has done for others throughout his life.

One of my friends posted how it was out of order that there was so much coverage about his death, and how none of the other 100,000+ people who have died from covid got talked about. But I saw the coverage as about how he lived his life, not about how he died...
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
