    Hi, I’m new!

I’m just introducing myself, been so depressed recently and just wanting to chat with fellow sufferers.

Thank you Jaquaia, it’s just I’ve been so depressed again recently and anxious, but I am calm at the moment thankfully...Depression comes in many forms doesn’t it? ..even for one person it can change from hour to hour.

Hi and welcome to DWD. Have you been to see your Dr about how you are feeling?
What do you mean about it changing from hour to hour?
Do a little of something that makes you happy every day!

Hi Suzi, no, I’m supposed to be going back regarding my depression, but haven’t managed to pick up the phone yet to make an appointment. I’m not new to depression/anxiety, but I’ve been reasonable for the past 4 years or so. By hour to hour I mean I can start feeling really low if something affects me or become anxious, which is I suppose true for other people too?

Hi there, nice to meet you. We all know how it can be and know what its like. So there is lots of understanding here.

I do hope you can manage to pick up the phone. You deserve it. Trust me.

What's stopping you from picking up the phone? - I know that sounds like a stupid question, or one from someone who doesn't understand, I was just wondering if there was something specific stopping you?

Well, I’ve been here before and got the t-shirt etc etc, so there isn’t anything they can do for me medication wise anyway, I can’t take them because of high pressure in my eyes and the side affects can cause this with me. The waiting list with counselling is at least 3 months, so by the time I get to see someone I may not need the service. I can only help myself at the end of the day, so that’s why. I’m so ed off otherwise and don’t get any understanding from my husband and family, initially yes, but after that it’s “get on with it” I’m afraid. Struggling so much today as so much to do in the house. I’m not working now due to my anxiety and depression and I’m annoying myself here, so I’m sure I’ll be annoying you too. I’d bang my head on the wall if I thought it would help!

You aren't annoying me at all! It sounds like you've loads going on. Is there no medication options open to you?

Hi Skye you'll find a lot of friendly people here on DWD always ready to listen.

I'm sure (though I may be wrong) that there are anti-depressants that don't affect the pressure in your eyes (glaucoma)

Sometimes working can help reduce depression it depends on the job and the people you are working with plus the companies' attitude tp mental health. There is no definitive answer as we are all different.
