Hi James and welcome. What is it that frightens you about the dentist? When was the last time you went? Have you talked to your doctor about your mood?

    Hi and welcome James.

I have rubbish teeth too - mine's mostly due to one of my medical conditions and medication... So I sympathise. Have you thought of finding a dentist who specialises in scared patients and see if you can have something to help you through it?

Hi and welcome James, my teeth used to be a mess and I am needle and dentist phobic, but managed to go to the dentist as my teeth were bad and they sent me to the hospital to have mine done, is that something that is possible for you to look into ?

About 20 years ago I had a pad experience and totally scared of going to the dentist ive been reearching online and found a couple of handy resources, This website has got some helpful articles and this one offers a great forum just for people with dental fear so ive registered there but i think ill need sometbody to come along to the dentist with me. I just dont have the confidence to do it and I think that the dentist wil end up judgeing me for not looking after my teeth

You won’t be the first to go to your dentist with dental issues because you have a phobia of dentists, and you won’t be the last. No dentist will judge you for that, I’m sure. Perhaps start slowly - ask the dentist to look at your teeth but not do any treatment on your first visit?

Hi James, sorry to hear about your struggle with going to the dentist. I know how it is to think people are judging you. But if your teeth need looking after I believe that every dentist will be happy to help.

I remember that where I am from there are special programs for people with these problems. I like how you are joining forums and doing research. But maybe try to phone a dentist. And ask what the options are. With regards to your fears and questions. If they can not help you there they might know where you could be helped. Best if luck.
