Thread: Neurological intrigue!

    Neurological intrigue!

    Hey.

OK. Well, I saw my neuro yesterday, and I now have a preliminary diagnosis - DRD, or dopa-responsive dystonia. While they are going to do another MRI to rule out injury, he is organising a dopamine trial for me.

Another thing that came up is autism - it seems my suspicions regarding the possibility of it playing a role were not unfounded. Getting a brain function assessment from a psychologist at some point, though its unclear when as I have to wait for my GP to arrange it. Soooo, things are moving, which is very gratifying - perhaps concerns Ive had my whole life will finally be addressed!

Hope everyone is doing well, speak to you soon. Love and light.

My husband, son and my youngest daughters all have aspergers so my house is ASD friendly! I'm so glad that you've got a preliminary diagnosis and that they are working to help you! That's so brilliant!
Please always remember that I am always right. I have a framed certificate to prove it.

I’m relieved you’ve got a starting point now, lovely. You seem quite positive about it, is that the case?

Thanks for the update, having a diagnosis is good, treatment to boost dopamine levels should hopefully be beneficial.

Cheers everyone. Yes, I am positive about it all - its very validating to finally have someone understand a part of me that I dont fully understand myself (nature of the beast, perhaps). Thank you all for your kind words - they mean a great deal to me.
