Upskirting law blocked by Tory M.P.

Really REALLY upset at this .

An attempt to make upskirting a specific criminal offence in England and Wales has been blocked by one Conservative MP.

The government had given its support to introducing the new law earlier.

But Sir Christopher Chope shouted "object" to the bill, leading to cries of "shame" from other MPs.

This idiot who objected was Tory M.P. Christopher Chope (the MP that objected) also objected to the Alan Turing Pardon and the Hillsborough debate. Amongst others.
Upskirting is a gross inversion of privacy and anyone who dose it is a sick individual who needs help.
Please; if you have been a victim speak to the police now!
Upskirting is a filthy practice where people (mainly) young men take pictures of girls underwear
    Who Are Wearing skirts.

Reason why I am upset is Maxine was a victim two years ago in a shopping centre.
She was walking up some stairs and someone spotted a man taking a photo of her while she was walking.
The bill is still alive and I am trying to understand why he objected.

I heard about it on the radio this morning and thought it'd be passed without a hitch but there's always one isn't there who wants to throw a spanner in the works

I too am horrified and really upset - it's one of the reasons I insist my girls wear cycling shorts under skirts/dresses, but they shouldn't have to. It's disgusting and demeaning...
Love to Maxine, all crimes of this nature are really unsettling and make you feel so afraid...

Your experience Suzi shows how much a problem this has become.
I read earlier that girls as young as 10 have been victims.

It's terrible and actually can be something which can destroy lives especially when it's done to girls at school and then shared on social media/mass messages etc...

His reason for blocking this? Apparently he makes a habit of blocking stuff like this when he feels there’s ‘not been enough debate’. He’s spent 20 years holding up bills on technicalities

He also blocked the law about making it a crime to injure a police dog/animal...
