    Is the medication working?

I'm on 20mg Citalopram and have been on it for a month today.just wondering,is there any way of knowing they're working?Should I be feeling any big effects?
Reason I ask is that last week I had a couple of really bad days but felt quite happy over the weekend.I don't know whether it's just because I'd been so low that anything different feels like a major positive or what.

The only way I have found to tell is to keep a mood diary. Then look back over it at the end of each month to see if the good outweighs the bad iyswim.

I've not even thought about a diary to be honest but it's a great idea.just hope it's finally started to work.

mood diaries are great for finding out what helps you and what doesnt. I have been doing them as part of my cbt. I now know my triggers and am trying to work at correcting them. I can also see from the mood diaries when my best and worse times of the day is.

You could also try mood scope. =] It asks you questions and helps you figure out how your mood may be with it, and gives you a printable graph over the course of the time you're using it.
