Thread: Relapse?

    Relapse?

Exam on Friday, hubby away, GP refusing to take my concerns on board re a physical health problem (so I have decided to avoid making more appointments until she refuses more represcriptions without an appointment), not looking forward to the last 10 weeks of my degree (practice), thinking (a lot) about alternative career options, run down (uti, tummy bug, mouth ulcers) - feeling low is inevitable. I hope this passes quickly. I have lots of thoughts and emotions buzzing around in my head and it does not help me to focus (quite the opposite) and makes me tearful. I don't want to enter that really dark place again.

Sounds like you have a lot going on right now, it's not surprised you are struggling a bit. Can you do something as getting some time for you?

Rather than avoiding GP appointments, have you thought about trying to see another doctor and getting a second opinion?

I have had problems with rudeness from 2 others so I relied on this one

If you won’t go to your GP over a disagreement on your health and you won’t see the other Drs because of rudeness, maybe it’s time to change surgery. You have to be able to see a GP somewhere

Are you in an area where you would have a choice of GP?

Could you travel a little outside the village a little?

Yes I get to choose which gp I see - she is not my official gp. Over my adult life I have had so many drs deny I am right (I was right every time) so I think it would not make a difference. All I wanted was a scan to put my mind at rest as the waiting list to see the specialist is months long but she said I am a routine referral (is nothing much wrong) and there is nothing she can do. She made that decision by not doing any kind of examination or test.

Without knowing more details I can't comment, but I really do think that it's a good idea to talk things through again with them....
