    New to DWD

    Hi all,
My name is Simon and I'd like to say hi.
I'm suffering with depression and anxiety and feel I have nobody to talk to. My partner doesn't understand me or my issues, and lately everyday is a struggle.
I'm not currently on medication, my GP is aware of my state of mind and am waiting for my referral to a counselling team to be actioned.

    Wishing everybody a peaceful weekend,

    Best wishes,
    Simon

Hi Simon. Can I ask if there is a reason for not going down the medication route?

Hi Simon and welcome to DWD.
Have you spoken to your partner about how you are feeling?
Are you keeping something like a mood diary to help keep track of your moods?

    Hi Stella180,
I guess I'm scared of medication. It is something that I need to discuss in more depth with my doctor and make a decision on.
    Hi Suzi,
We sort of discuss my depression, but I guess it may be more me not wanting to let her down or make her depressed with my low moods. No, I haven't kept any diary of mood recently.

Hi, simon, and welcome . Can I suggest you ask your partner to Time to Change https://www.time-to-change.org.uk/ab...n/time-to-talk. It's an organisation set up with the intention of getting people to talk about mental health and may help the both of you to talk with each other.
I believe if you wear enough pretty lipstick, sparkly jewellery and great shoes, no one will notice the size of your ass

Trust me, you won't be letting her down by talking about it. You don't have to go all "woe is me," just let her know how things are...
