    Chronic Fatigue

Was going to add this to my post about tiredness, but I didnt know if it strictly belonged there.

Something that came up in one of the responses has made me wonder something that I have been considering for quite a while. I tend to get a lot of digestive disturbances, feel cold a lot get a lot of headaches and feel tired a lot. These can be symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, can't they?

My question then is this - can people with depression get Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? As someone pointed out, it is a chronic condition, an element that I hadnt considered in exactly that way before.

I would again be interested to hear people's experience - after 17 years, it seems that I am still new to this, lol.

Anybody can potentially have CFS, in theory. And it says here http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Chronic...roduction.aspx that stress and emotional trauma may be a contributing factor. But one of the criteria for diagnosis is that the fatigue can't be explained by anything else. So it's going to be hard for any dr to differentiate between CFS symptoms, depression symptoms and medication side effects tbh.

I'll agree with Paula. It's not an easy diagnosis to get from a dr, and tbh it's a diagnosis which sucks to have. If you think that it's a possibility then you can always discuss it with your Dr and see what they have to say about it.

Ahhh, yes. Its the "cant be explained by anything else" part of the equation isnt it? Thank you for making a great deal of sense - this has all come out the woods after 17 years of being neglected, and its good to have somewhere to come to discuss these things.

    Cheers

No problem I have lots of "can't be described by anything else so I s'pose it has to be..." diagnoses..
