How to post pictures in the forum.

Ok firstly please use a image hosting site to host pictures do not attach photos to messages as this takes the data storage from the site.

Here is how to post a picture from photobucket like I have here (couldnt resist a cute pic) instead of a link also the same principle will apply from other image hosting sites such as image shack etc

Once you have uploaded the picture to photobucket click it up so it is larger and there will be a series of links to the side of the photo click the one that the arrow in the following photo points to which is the img code and it will highlight yellow to show it has been copied.

once you have done that go to a post either as a new thread or a reply and right click your mouse button and click on paste and the link will show up on the post. It will stay as a link and not show as a picture until you press reply or submit new post.

Have a practice in this thread if you want and I will help as much as I can if you get stuck.

Thanks- do links to other sites use up the bandwidth as some pics are copyrighted & youre not allowed to download but are allowed to link to them?

Links are fine, it's just whether "We" (read I) host them or they are hosted elsewhere... We only have a certain hosting package and as it's coming out of my pocket I would rather things were hosted elsewhere itms?

If you share a link or an img link then someone else is hosting them ;)

I upload my images to Photobucket then use the Direct Link option (remembering to untick the option to upload to DWD). At least then I know that I'm hosting and have some control over removal, too (blush)

its the same with the img link hun its hosted on photobucket still and then shows the picture in the post itms

Let's see if this works for me, I'm a jinx with anything technical - sorry in advance if all the lights go out!!!!!!:P

Your posting the HTML code, all you need to do is copy and paste the IMG code (2nd from bottom of image links) and that should work as above.

Ahh am wondering if you clicked the html link as its just above the img one here is a pic hun its the link with the black arrow pointing to it that you want, hope this helps :)

I don't know if it's just me or what, but can you upload pictures from photobucket from a phone? I don't see the way to do it.

I've always had trouble with that too Kelly. I'd be interested if any tecchy bods out there have the answer.
I also have trouble seeing p-bucket images on my phone that are posted as links. When I click on the link I just get a blank page.

I'll ask the techie team as I don't know! My phone isn't capable of doing anything at all so I wont know.. lol

My phone is capable of doing all sorts of weird stuff all by itself - bit it's less cooperative when I want it to do something ;)
