DWD comes to facebook!

OK so i have created a DWD group on facebook - thought it was another way of spreading the word!!!

basically i have put it as a private group, so people have to be aproved to join, but that can always be changed. I just didnt want any pranksters joining... iykwim!

Essentially I think it's needs to keep happy, well not overly so because frankly that would involve us never going on, but more of a cheery place with happy things to pick us up when we're a bit bleh?

I has a scout to see if there were other depression groups and my word! I clicked on one and crikey the pictures in there were disturbing and really not what you want when you're down, this place has got it right as it's a positive place where we help each other and look after one another.

I know you need an outlet when you're down but that place was so black, so dark and so horrid it can't possibly help you, just make you feel worse.

I just look at that first one (particularly the pictures) and just think that's not going to help, you're just going to feel worse and more down and generally crapper. Alright so happy smiley lovely people aren't going to help either but to be around people who understand and who care and are being positive (or are generally trying their best) is much better!

Ah - silly's good! I was only thinking earlier today about the old site I used to go on -it was all doom and gloom, and I don't think it did me any good at all. This site is wonderful - and I have made some really great friends who I know I can count on whether I'm up or down.....

Now then fact fans, you might find this interesting:

I used to share a flat with my friend Eleanor, her parents nearly called her Fritha when she was born so I used that as my name when I was a Viking. Her grandmother was called Emmy and I use Emmie as my online handle in this forum! People generally think we're the same person (no really) and er, in same ways we are really! She gave me away at my wedding if you look at the photos in my facebook album she's the one peering out of the door with me :-)
