the reason i asked is that many people hear bi-polar and the names seems to make people think "split personality" etc, as im sure you know bi-polar is the correct name for manic depression. and for some strange reason people also seem to think that manic depression just means serious deppression, again this isnt true. bi-polar has all the same symptums as depression, but with a few added issues, imagine depression has a scale 0 to -10, 0 being normal, and -10 being at the point of breakdown, well bi-polar has the same scale but it goes +10 to 0 to -10) +10 being manic, the total oppersite of a breakdown. almost a high
a large amount of people who suffer with bi-polar also have large debt problems, because when they are feeling low, they spend money to cheer themselfs up, and this is normal. but then if they go downhill a bit too much, they will spend more and get into a small amount of debt, this will bring them up, but when the bills come in, they crash down lower, it becomes a visicous cycle, of swinging from + to -
sorry Lisa if im telling you things you already know, but i thought i would start from the basics, for anyone who may read this
one of the other issues of bi-polar is the treatment, when i worked in mental health a few years ago, one of the biggest problems was how to treat someone? it used to be a case of using a combination of drugs, anti-d's, mood stablisers and a group of drugs (that i forget the name of) that act like seditives. im sure things have changed by now on the meds front.
is there anything you want to know about?
