I have spent many years (it feels like) headbng.1 and trawling through the internet to find useful stuff on depression and how to cope living with someone who has it.. i havent actually had much luck i am horrified to say.
I found the sites mostly really wordy, badly laid out, full of rubbish, or a combination of all the problems i have mentioned earlier!!!!
The best ones imho are (in no particular order):
1) Netdoctor for a basic understanding, and some realism http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/depression.htm
2) Aware Defeat Depression
the site may not be the best to navigate around, but it offeres hope and some understanding. Based in NI.

Will add more later, but please lets build up a list of places to go for information...
