and finding it really hard to be here as I am only just admitting to myself that I have a problem with depression.

I was diagnosed with PND in 2004 following the birth of my second daughter (she has a lot of congenital abnormalities which I can explain some other time!) but I thought I had it all under control following counselling. I had baby number 3 in 2006 and have had mild episodes of feeling down since I had him.

Now, I realise that following a few weeks of feeling really rubbish, that this has now got a hold of me again and I am trying to get an appointment with my GP which are like gold dust as I don't want to feel this bad any more.

I packed a bag last Wednesday and was going to leave my gorgeous DH and my 3 children behind as I felt they would be better without me. Fortunately, I confessed to FIL what I was planning and opened up to him and since then, even though I am really low, I am feeling a little better for talking to someone.

Hope to get know some of you soon and hello to those that already know me! :alright:

Hugs Ru x

Hi Ru

Welcome to DWD

Well done for admitting that there is a problem and that you need help. That is the first and most difficult step to take.

I am gonna follow Suzi's usual line here You are in a safe place to off load No one here will judge you. None of us are experts we are only going by personal experience. We will do our best to help. Keep talking it really does help. (Suzi usually says all this a lot better than I do)

Keep pushing for your appointment with the GP.

Do you have a friend you could talk to? If not and you want someone fairly local to chat to give me a shout.

Welcome, Ru, and huge hugs to you! It's tough admitting that one needs help, and you deserve a ton of applause for that. Keep trying to get to your GP.

This is a safe place for you: we'll never judge you. And we've all been there or hold dear people who are.
