You should see them now on the left hand of your screen. If not you are using a basic editor. To change that just go into USERCP, Edit Options, then go to the bottom and change Message Editor Interface to either Standard or Enhanced Editor

To add an image click on the little icon that looks like an envelope with a mountain, then put the url of your picture in it

have worked out that the smilies are on the right with proper reply, but not there at all with quick reply...
