An Introduction
What is sanctuary?
Sanctuary is what I am calling a project I am looking at starting with everyones help. You could call it a retreat, a safe haven away from reality, somewhere where as a forum we could re-couperate, learn to come to terms with our issues in a better environment than we are in at the moment in rl. Its also a place where you become my client and I design a place that you would want to stay in, have your own flat how you want with anything you want in it. (And I'll even consider a sanctuary area for Bai Yun & Yun Zi)
Why am I doing it?
Well I am trying to keep myself busy, giving myself something to concentrate on for an hour or so a day to keep a routine, keep my CAD skills up to date and my design thinking.
How do you get involved?
This thread is for ideas, wants, discussion etc. What would you want a gym, swimming pool, chapel, education rooms, what about a flat in this sanctuary for you and your family, how many rooms next to friends or in a secluded spot. where would you want this sanctuary to be, in the mountains, by the sea, by a lake, in the centre of town etc.
Is this an enclosed institution?
The answer to that is no, it will be open like the forum and anyone can visit as we should always encourage socialising with everyone if you choose to, more like a gated community you find in Hollywood the environment needs to feel safe but not enclosed and feel like a home and/or village community.
The first part of the building will be a community Hall which i will be designing over the comming few days and I will be posting progress renders as I progress it. I will prompt for ideas, suggestions and peoples own wants as I develop the whole project. People can contribute if they want to draw what they want a flat / house to look like, design a garden suggest facilities and even produce artwork to go on walls (which I can add to renders when I can remember how to import them as paintings)
