I don't know a huge amount about it, but I know a little (very little) as it's an extreme of social phobia (and can be described in people on the autistic spectrum...). The best thing for it is psychotherapy... Does any of that help? If you can be more specific, I can try to find out more?

That website is a fair source of information for several disorders, so it's worth browsing if you feel like it.
There are little screening tests on there too for depression etc, sort of like what a Dr would go through with you, so I find them a good starting point when I'm feeling something is wrong with me.
You can join up and ask questions on there too if you like.

Im going to take a print of that next time I go gps. The 1st description is very apt & could explain the meltdown other day
Know it was for someone else but thanks & how are you S.I?

I think everyone will agree the beauty of online support groups such as this is the fact you can widely share sources of information and it'll be available for many others. I like to think that things I put up will helps some people even if they never leave a comment, just like how such sites help me at times when I don't feel the need to reply.
But it was nice to hear from you so thanks. ^_^

I'm doing well thank you, and I hope it goes well with your Dr. If your Dr is anything like my previous ones it'd be good to point out that you only read it online and are bringing it to them because you want their professional opinion. It's got two purposes, first off its an ego boost and lets them know you're not trying to tell them how to do their job or undermining their role, so they sometimes like that. But it also makes them take it slightly more seriously because they now feel the need to be more professional about it, rather than saying 'Iunno, you don't seem like my other patients who have it' - being human, they do tend to put their personal opinion in instead of their professional one. =.=
I've learnt a lot of communication can be changed around by key words for some reason. haha

It was! Its getting him to take it seriously. Not saying I have it but I avoid all kinds of things-even when not depressed.
(had a go a few tests as well. Got 0 on self esteem & have a low emotional iq-no surprise!)
Thanks Ill vertainly take the advice on board.

Useful article. Recognise a lot of it in myself too.
Avoidance should be my middle name(think).
