View Full Version : Bad memory?

I've noticed my memory has become terrible losing things I had in my hands only minutes before. Not being able to remember a conversation which happened only half an hour ago and knowing full well that I was listening and paying attention. But also with names and faces I know the face but I'm having trouble remembering the persons name or getting it wrong completely.....

Does or has any body else noticed this about themselves!?

Im finding that too. I'll go to do something and it's done but I honestly don't remember doing it. Which some times is amazing because motivation is a big problem for me lately.

Yup I forgot many things can be quiet worrying sometimes hence why I have to put reminders on my computer or phone.

I've forgotten what it was like, to have a good memory.
(and I'd forgotton how to spell forgotten as well!)

Like Jarre I save all sorts of memos on my PC.
I forget where to put things in the kitchen - like put the coffee in the fridge!
I put things in safe places, never to be found again.
And I can never remember where I put my specs down.

I don't know where I put my car key. Not seen it since Sunday. I'm having to use the spare which is a manual key.

For anyone who needs lists of things to do on your computer then I've been using this designed and owned by our very own Watson ;)

It's a free to use, but you can pay for it where you then don't get ads...

It's really simple and easy and I've been using it for ages and love it!

Ye he has basically said that it's due to me being distracted all the time.... Slightly confused with that answer to be honest

Have you thought about asking him what he meant?

My memory is dreadful - my husband gets so frustrated with me!!

When as work (a stressful job where I need to remember a lot of info. different people give me) I can remember a lot of important information, and I keep a notebook to create my "To lists" each day. But as soon as I get home, I will have a conversation with my husband and remember nothing of it 5 minutes later ..... I think my brain just shuts down .. my poor hubby ......

I've noticed this too. Sometimes I can be looking at someone whos talking to me and all i can see is their mouth moving - no sound coming out or when it does it's all jumbled up.

All that completely rings a bell (-well it would if I rememered where I put it:s)
Esp. coffee in fridge & putting things in safe places & forgetting where I put them or going in a room & saying to myself "why Im I in here?" Then asking myself "why are you asking you?, you dont know!" :(

Ah, putting things in safe places - bane of my existence. When will I ever learn?
I have a terrible memory. Once locked myself out of my house three times in the same day!!! (nod)(giggle):(

Glad it's not just me (blush) I honestly thought I was going doolally. And mine is exactly like Fay's - I'm known for being able to remember loads of phone numbers, passwords, technical procedures and the like, but I can't most of the conversations I have at home :s

(giggle)

I'm rubbish at remembering conversations.
I'm completely in awe of people who can give blow by blow accounts of long conversations they've had. Heck, I can't even remember what I've said half way through a sentence sometimes. Attention span of a goldfish.(blush)
