First off got a message from Paula replied but inbox full (such a popular lady).

After lunch club at the Guild Hall closed earlier this year another club has been started at local church on Monday's and Tuesday's each week at what is called The Grapevine Cafe. Kathleen daughter in law of Iris a spritely 93 year old arranged for us to have our weekly meal there every Tuesday and play dominoes a three course fo a fiver who could say no ;)

On Friday there's a coffee morning in the local park this was arranged by the council by the health and improvement team nice to have good natter and if you are over 70 it is half price because of some funding which has been found probably a few quid got lost down the side of the sofa (rofl).

Anyone who follows me on FB will seen I've had problem with my lawnmower :(

A little bird tells me a certain young lady got married in my absence, I think she only got married because she loves Toby the cat (rofl)

Well that's me finished updating.

Tuesday lunch at the church was homemade potato and leek soup, mince beef and onion pie with mixed veg and mash and for pud lemon meringue pie all for a fiver.

Today went to a local chemist and had my covid and flu jabs, covid in the left arm no problems flu in the right leaving me with an aching right arm.

Had lunch of gammon and egg at the Boundary Stone barmaid asked me if I wanted pineapple? No only weirdos have pineapple give me egg ;) did some shopping at the Coop not done much since I got home apart from chill.

Pineapple is okay on pizza but is never okay with gammon.

Pineapple is nice with ice cream.

As they say to each his/her own.

Seeing as they've cobwebs and spiders *lets out a muffled scream* over the tills at the Coop (other stores are out there) it must be approaching Halloween.

Went the coffee morning at the local park bah humbug the kids were off school and there was some Halloween event on later on, skeletons and pumpkins everywhere and signs advertising "Scream on the Green" boy was it noisy couldn't hear myself think. Half price coffee and cakes (one advantage of being over 70) compensated for all the racket ;)

It wasn't too bad we didn't sit outside we sat inside the pavilion where you can buy drinks and snacks, there was a guy with zombie make up there either that or he'd come back from the dead (rofl)

Just a quick update yesterday (Wednesday) spent most of the day playing Chrono Trigger (video game).

Tuesday lunch at church mushroom soup, winner, winner chicken dinner, scone with blackcurrant jam and cream squirty cream not clotted cream I know should be clotted cream but can't complain as it is only a fiver for all that, no domino wins though must be on a losing streak but times they will be a changing (I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere).

As for today depends on the weather fine with no wind at the moment but according to weather reports it could become very wet and windy.

Paula

Hey, Mike, you gorgeous man! How are you doing?

Why thank you gorgeous young lady.

With having lunch out the local college on Thursday as mentioned in my fab 5 I got no shopping done and planned to do that over weekend but it has done nothing but rain good thing I've got food in so won't starve.

Coffee morning at the park only 5 there last Friday but the week before was 15-20 and it was like bedlam then I think about a dozen is best, half price cakes and drinks for us over 70's, see being over 70 does have benefits not many though ;)

Paula

Lunch at church was mushroom soup, chicken curry followed by apple stroodle.

Must've been 40 years since I last had a curry when I wasn't at all keen, how times have change dipping my toes into the exotic world of curry (not literally that'd be weird) was most enjoyable.

Paula
17-01-24, 01:08 PM
Yum, love curry!

Jaquaia

We're ordering curry on Saturday! J has a day off and I'm in Scarborough all day so taking the easy option! Chicken pasanda, pilau rice and naan. Yum!
