My auntie died today. Sounds awful, but it's not a shock....she'd been in and out of hospital for a while with covid, COPD, liver/kidney issues because of alcohol dependence and she'd lost all but 20% of her vision. I know she'll be at peace now. We used to be so close when I was younger, used to spend the 6 weeks holiday at her house and she'd make a big pan of corned beef hash for us all, with brown sauce....then she'd take us to our uncle every Saturday to have a bet on the horse and my uncle (he's also deceased) used to make us a plate up with sandwiches, a chocolate flapjack and a cake with some juice. kind of grew apart as I got older and had my own children but I still saw her regularly at family parties/in the bingo etc.
