I know, but it's also ok to not be OK if you're in pain... (bear)

Suzi
23-11-22, 08:41 AM
Hey you, how are you today? Honestly?

Paula
23-11-22, 10:01 AM
Tired, had bloods early this morning. Back is sore but less sore than it has been

Suzi
23-11-22, 04:44 PM
Have you rested during today?

Paula
23-11-22, 05:09 PM
Not as much as I wanted to, I ended up finishing a job for work that ive been trying to do for 10 days. But I did watch a couple of films while doing it :)

Suzi
23-11-22, 05:30 PM
What movies did you watch?

Paula
23-11-22, 06:18 PM
Last Holiday and The Lost City - both average so perfect for my addled brain lol

Suzi
23-11-22, 07:26 PM
Haven't seen that Last Holiday... We re-watched Heathers the musical and cut people shapes out of carrier bags - the joys of being the parent to an A Level Art Student

Paula
23-11-22, 08:12 PM
(giggle)

Paula

So, the b*****d ex husband of my aunt received his sentence yesterday. 19 months less time served on remand. Nowhere near as long as we’d hoped. But, the judge put an indefinite restraining order on him and he can’t contact my aunt except via a solicitor.

Suzi
29-11-22, 09:33 AM
What a crap sentence. It's not surprising that so few people who have been abused take things to court... I'm glad there's an indefinite restraining order, but if he breaks it what are the consequences? Is it a direct back to jail or start again? How's she doing? Are you OK?

Paula
29-11-22, 10:07 AM
Direct back to jail. She’s…. Processing. But she’s mentioned Christmas with her kids and her new man (I really hope he’s kind to her) so she’s trying to move on, I think. I’m ok. Angry at the sentence but it’s done now and I just pray it’s the end of this

Suzi
29-11-22, 11:26 AM
So glad she's moving on and I agree I hope it's the end. At least there's the back to jail caveat...

How are you doing? Pain levels?

Paula
29-11-22, 03:18 PM
I’m good, pain levels not great but que sera

Suzi
29-11-22, 06:22 PM
Sorry about the pain love. How are Si? Jess? Katie?

Paula
29-11-22, 07:50 PM
Si is good but worried about his dad, and completely unwilling/unable to talk about it. The girls are good, Dom’s stressed atm as he’s completely cut ties with his mum. He had to for his own mental health

Suzi
29-11-22, 10:36 PM
Oh that's sad re Dom - but good if it does help with his MH.

Men are so unable to talk about how bad things are, I wish that I could get through to them how important it is!

Do you have lovely stuff planned for Christmas?

Paula
06-12-22, 03:55 PM
Full of snot, coughing like a 40 a day, and I’ve got to finish an assignment by 13th. I managed an hour of work I’ll probably have to correct tomorrow :(

Suzi
06-12-22, 05:01 PM
Oh love, sorry you're feeling so poorly. Can you get an extension if needed?

Paula
06-12-22, 05:07 PM
I can, I think. I’ll see how I go

Jaquaia
06-12-22, 07:05 PM
Hope you feel better very soon (panda)

magie06
06-12-22, 08:01 PM
Plenty of hot whiskey. It's very good for a cold like that.

Suzi
07-12-22, 10:40 AM
How are you feeling today?

Paula
07-12-22, 10:40 AM
Bleurgh. I’ve actually got mouth ulcers!

Suzi
07-12-22, 10:47 AM
Oh yuck! Sure it's something that you don't need to speak to a Dr?

Paula
07-12-22, 10:59 AM
Yeah, it’s really just a cold. It’ll pass

Suzi
07-12-22, 10:59 AM
Fair enough, just keep an eye on it?

Paula
07-12-22, 11:00 AM
I will

Paula
07-12-22, 04:52 PM
I’VE FINISHED MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! Now all I’ve got to do is wrap it……..

Suzi
07-12-22, 09:22 PM
(rofl) I haven't started mine yet...

Paula
16-12-22, 08:06 AM
It’s obviously the week for it. My son in law was taken into hospital by ambulance at 6am with a bad asthma attack.

Jaquaia
16-12-22, 09:07 AM
Hope he recovers quickly (panda)

Suzi
16-12-22, 11:54 AM
Oh no! Hope he's feeling much better

Paula
16-12-22, 01:32 PM
Diagnosis is bad case of flu causing asthma attack. Katie’s got flu too, they reckon, but doesn’t have asthma. He’s been sent home with different inhalers and orders to rest. Idiot hasn’t had his flu jab….

Suzi
17-12-22, 11:43 AM
Oh no! As long as they have been able to fix him!

Paula
17-12-22, 12:28 PM
The inhalers see, to have helped

Suzi
17-12-22, 10:39 PM
So glad for him and you all x

Paula
19-12-22, 05:20 PM
So, my mum has done exactly the same as Dom. Rushed to hospital, SATS through the floor. Flu affecting her asthma. She’s home now with steroids and antibiotics

And my chiropractor has worked on my back. He pre warned me I’d be sore for a couple of days, he wasn’t wrong lol

Jaquaia
19-12-22, 07:38 PM
(panda)

Suzi
19-12-22, 08:13 PM
Oh no! Well that's your 3.... Hope your lovely Mum is going to sit and rest (although I doubt it).. Do you need to rest or move? Just be gentle with yourself, please?

Paula
19-12-22, 09:18 PM
Gentle movement, and a heated back pad. It’ll pass

Suzi
20-12-22, 11:27 AM
How are you doing today love?

Paula
20-12-22, 03:38 PM
May I refer you to my previous answer? (sweat)

magie06
20-12-22, 07:39 PM
Rest, rest and more rest.

Suzi
20-12-22, 08:45 PM
Be kind to you?

Paula
20-12-22, 08:56 PM
I am. Which I know is surprising so hopefully it eases quicker

magie06
21-12-22, 08:05 AM
How are you today?

Paula
21-12-22, 08:59 AM
Still a little sore. But my last two presents have been delivered (phew) so that’s my work done for the rest of then year!

Suzi
21-12-22, 11:43 AM
Lol, I've got fingers crossed for deliveries to arrive or there'll be a lot of "I owe you"s under the tree!

So, resting?

Paula
21-12-22, 12:00 PM
Yeah, with a heat pad glued to my back!

magie06
21-12-22, 08:24 PM
At this stage you shouldn't do any more shopping. Everyone in my circle are getting an iou now.

Paula
23-12-22, 02:05 PM
So, my back’s still bad. Ive had my nails done and my hair cut but I’m going to have to rest up now for the day.

Strugglingmum
23-12-22, 02:30 PM
(panda)

magie06
23-12-22, 03:03 PM
Sending gentle hugs your way. My own back is bad today too.

Suzi
23-12-22, 08:38 PM
How's the resting going?

Paula
23-12-22, 11:25 PM
I’ve rested, not sire its helped but we’ll see tomorrow

Suzi
24-12-22, 11:26 AM
How are you doing today love?

Paula
24-12-22, 01:25 PM
Its a bit easier. So I'm going to be good and take it easy for a few days as that does seem to be helping.

Suzi
24-12-22, 05:25 PM
Shock! Horror! Pacing helps? Hope the pacing is helping love.

Paula
24-12-22, 07:28 PM
That’s rich lol

I’m off to the midnight communion today + it’ll be the first service I've been to in 6 years. Excited and nervous ;)

Suzi
24-12-22, 08:11 PM
Oh that's so wonderful! Enjoy lovely, enjoy. Who's going with you?

Paula
24-12-22, 08:25 PM
A couple of friends

magie06
24-12-22, 08:34 PM
Enjoy. It sounds lovely.

Suzi
24-12-22, 10:15 PM
Sounds fab! Enjoy it love!

Jaquaia
24-12-22, 10:54 PM
Enjoy! You're awesome!

Strugglingmum
25-12-22, 01:07 AM
That’s rich lol

I’m off to the midnight communion today + it’ll be the first service I've been to in 6 years. Excited and nervous ;)

Hope you enjoyed. Really proud of you!!

Paula
25-12-22, 09:44 AM
I loved it! I cried, i beamed, it was emotional

Jaquaia
25-12-22, 09:46 AM
You cried??? Surely not!!!!! (giggle)

Merry Christmas lovely, glad you loved it.

Suzi
25-12-22, 10:43 AM
So glad you got there! I know how much it means to you! Back to pacing again please?

Paula
25-12-22, 12:14 PM
Yeah, Si isn't letting me do anything today ;)

Suzi
25-12-22, 10:22 PM
Good!

Did you have a lovely day?

Paula
25-12-22, 11:08 PM
I had a moment today, we were playing a game after dinner, and i just looked round the table and felt overwhelmingly grateful to be with those i love most in the world :)

Suzi
26-12-22, 11:55 AM
That's perfect.

Are you resting today or off out visiting?

Paula
26-12-22, 03:48 PM
Weve been over to my brothers with my parents. My mum looks so ill…..

Jaquaia
26-12-22, 04:00 PM
Oh dear. Not that nasty virus going round I hope?

Paula
26-12-22, 04:55 PM
Shes got flu (though is prob past infectious stage) but she has been really ill and it overwhelmed her asthma so was in a&e last week. She can barely move and looked grey. Coughing her guts up, strained back and abdomen muscles. She said its worse than when she had covid

Strugglingmum
26-12-22, 06:11 PM
Your poor mum. Xx

Jaquaia
26-12-22, 06:12 PM
I remember reading that now. That sounds exactly like I've been this week, it's absolutely awful! Hope she's over the worst and recovers quickly.

Suzi
26-12-22, 10:02 PM
I hope she recovers really, really soon.. Hope you've had a good day despite her being poorly...

Paula
28-12-22, 12:31 PM
Mum’s been to the doctors and is on her second course of antibiotics…. He said that ‘it’s a virus but needs extra help’. I’m no expert but surely antivirals would be better for flu?

Suzi
28-12-22, 05:53 PM
Antibiotics don't work on a virus... That doesn't seem right to me, but I'm no doctor

Paula
28-12-22, 07:28 PM
Exactly….

Jaquaia
28-12-22, 09:15 PM
I've been given antibiotics for a chest infection before, no idea why.

Suzi
28-12-22, 10:51 PM
Me too, but that's more bacterial, rather than viral...

Hope they help your Mum love, she's not known for resting....

magie06
29-12-22, 02:52 PM
How is your mum today?

Paula
29-12-22, 06:02 PM
She said she had a better night sleep and (and I quote) ‘coughed up some really nasty gunk’ (ewwww) so is hoping she’s over the worst

magie06
29-12-22, 06:18 PM
I think I'm coming down with some sort of bug now. I did a covid test this morning and it was negative. I'll do another on Saturday morning.

Paula
29-12-22, 07:03 PM
(panda)

Suzi
29-12-22, 07:47 PM
At least the gunge is moving..

Hope you get better soon Magie.

Paula - how are you doing love?

Paula
29-12-22, 08:08 PM
Im ok, sore but will take it easy tomorrow

Suzi
29-12-22, 10:32 PM
Promise? What do you have on your agenda?

Paula
29-12-22, 11:37 PM
Maybe a bit of study, but only if I’m up to it. What about you?

Suzi
30-12-22, 12:06 PM
I need to do some study, but think I might push it back lol
Fern has a check up at the hospital and is meant to be having a blood test to check on thyroid levels as they were a bit odd when they were in hospital, but we've already had tears because of this...
They are also checking on Ferns "Floppy Foot" to check on reflexes and to see if there's more info on if it's going to be more long term or not...
OO and we're meeting up with Charley (Marc's sister), Dan and their little person Lane for dinner in the pub - it's become a bit of a tradition and it's so full of joy that I'm looking forward to spending time with them. Not actually wanting to go, but know it'll be good when I get there itms?

Paula
30-12-22, 03:51 PM
Absolutely makes sense - and I hope Fern agrees to the test (panda)

Suzi
30-12-22, 10:21 PM
They weren't able to do it today, but that's ok. The Dr wasn't too worried, more gave them a lecture about not taking their vit D tablets lol

Dinner tonight didn't happen, we're now doing tomorrow lunchtime!

Paula
02-01-23, 07:12 AM
How have I managed to keep a whole year to 60 pages? I know it’s not 100 but as the title says 2022, this thread is gettin’ CLOSED

Suzi
02-01-23, 12:26 PM
(rofl) (rofl) (rofl)
