Jaquaia
30-05-18, 07:39 PM
It's knitted Mike! But also bought myself some crochet hooks in the hope of teaching myself that too!

Wow Jaq....what a nice scarf, and even lovelier wool! I love nice wool. I buy it for the colours more than anything. What make is the wool? It looks sumptuous.

Believe it or not I got the wool from Wish. It feels lovely and soft but no make on the label.

I'm just debating needle size. The pattern says 5mm for double knit but this wool is a bit finer so thinking 4mm but not sure!!!

4mm sounds right. Is there a suggested needle size on the ballband?

Suzi
01-06-18, 02:45 PM
Going by crochet standards I'd go with the 4's too.

Jaquaia
01-06-18, 02:57 PM
No suggested needle side on the band. I'll do a couple of patterns with the 4's and see how it looks.

Suzi
01-06-18, 03:42 PM
Can't wait to see it.

Jaquaia
01-06-18, 10:23 PM
Made a start. It's going to be so delicate and lacy when I'm finished! Just taking a bit to get used to the wool. Done half a pattern

It's fiddly but my hands being stiff won't be helping so put it away for the night. I'm just impatient to see how it looks when the varigated colours kick in!

Suzi
01-06-18, 10:37 PM
It'll look beautiful!

OldMike

Beautiful. You are so talented. I'd love to be able to do everything that you can. Nothing seems to be out of your remit.

Jaquaia
02-06-18, 10:26 AM
I've always been quite creative but I can see a lot of room for improvement in everything that I do

Paula
02-06-18, 11:47 AM
I don’t think that need to improve ever goes away, no matter how good you are

OldMike
02-06-18, 12:50 PM
I think the need to improve is what drives you forward and is part of your creativity Jaq :)

@Magie you're very talented and creative having seen your knitting and crafts too. :)

Suzi
03-06-18, 12:20 PM
Wow they do so much!

Jaquaia
03-06-18, 12:33 PM
It only took 2 weeks to arrive too! If you look in the product reviews someone has posted a picture of a finished project they used it for. It looks so delicate and soft!

Suzi
03-06-18, 04:54 PM
OOO They have bamboo yarn! I adore using bamboo yarn!! OK, need financing then I'm gonna get some!

Jaquaia
03-06-18, 04:58 PM
My knitting needles are bamboo! I've just ordered some bamboo crochet hooks from there too.

The colour went a bit off. They've actually attached 2 different bit of yarn together. Thinking it looks ok but those voices that tell me I'm not good enough are saying I should pull it out...

Angie

Paula
18-06-18, 08:44 AM
So pretty :)

Sissy
18-06-18, 09:38 PM
I like it! Bamboo needles you said? Mine are birch. I think there is not much difference when you use them, I have both sorts but my cats are not chewing birch ones as eagerly, so no need to neurotically hide my stuff from them. They do bite these too, but not fanatically trying to steal them while I'm knitting, unlike when I use bamboo ones

Jaquaia
06-05-20, 07:35 PM
New project! I may actually finish one some day...

That's really pretty! Are you enjoying it?

Jaquaia
06-05-20, 10:29 PM
I am. I just can't do a huge amount in one go or my hands stiffen. I may try it with my ring splints on and see if that helps

Suzi
06-05-20, 10:43 PM
It really is beautiful!

OldMike
07-05-20, 08:29 PM
That's brilliant Jaq you're a master knitter (knitting)

Jaquaia
07-05-20, 09:23 PM
I wouldn't go that far Mike! I went for something with simple stitches that I knew I could do

Stella180
07-05-20, 09:32 PM
Doesn’t stop the end result being fab.

Jaquaia
07-05-20, 10:22 PM
Fingers crossed it will

Suzi
08-05-20, 10:04 AM
I don't see why it wouldn't be....

Jaquaia
13-06-20, 10:34 PM
Had to pull out 8 rows as I'd cocked up 10 stitches:@

Stella180
13-06-20, 11:51 PM
I bet they pulled out in a fraction of the time it took to create them.

Suzi
14-06-20, 08:56 AM
I sympathise. I recently had to rip out about half a blanket to get to the bit that I'd initially made a mistake on.....

Jaquaia
13-10-20, 10:09 PM
100 rows down, 64 to go... getting there slowly!

That’s really cute

Sissy
15-10-20, 10:15 AM
I like knitted scarfs and shawls, but am too lazy to start a project like that. I stay on my comfort zone with socks and sweaters. I love that pattern you have there, it would make a really cute cardigan! Wish I could work with White yarn. If I try, it is full of cat and dog hair immediately, because I don't clean up enough.

Can't wait to see your final work!

Jaquaia
15-10-20, 10:24 AM
It's actually a really light green but the lighting was rubbish when I took the photo (giggle)

Your knitting is amazing!!!

Sissy
15-10-20, 10:28 AM
Thank you. I have no idea how to post photos now when I can't use my photo phucket. But then again, I haven't got much done, so nothing to post about either

Paula
15-10-20, 11:06 AM
I tend to use ImgBB

Suzi
15-10-20, 12:56 PM
Or you can link to instagram ;)

Paula
15-10-20, 06:24 PM
I don’t have Instagram - my kids have banned me ;)

Sissy
15-10-20, 08:08 PM
I use ig but I admit I am lazy with it. It is full of animals these days, should start posting some socks again.

Light Green is better than White! I really want to see the finished product!

Suzi
15-10-20, 08:09 PM
(rofl) (rofl) (rofl) You don't have to tell them!

Jaquaia
18-10-20, 10:20 PM
Should have finished it today but the wool fell off my knee and the bloody cat attacked it so spent hours untangling it all!!! 5 rows and I'm done so will post pics tomorrow!

Suzi
19-10-20, 08:28 AM
Oh no! Naughty Toby!

Mira
19-10-20, 09:05 PM
Thats awesome that she liked it. I like it too. The pattern is the same as I asked my mum to knit a pillow case for the sofa in. Great taste!

Started making another of these in lemon. Baby is due 10th December so hoping I get it finished in time! I figured they'd get more use out of a thick blanket in winter!

Strugglingmum
27-07-22, 09:03 PM
