Sorry can't help Mitz only ventured in to online chat rooms a couple of times and that was many years ago.

As Flo says be very careful with online chat rooms as people can pretend to be what they are not.

I would advocate you being really careful. There are some dangerous places on the net looking out for vulnerable people.

I don't think it's any more dangerous than using a forum.
Mitz I don't know of any depression / anxiety ones I'm afraid. I used to use a general chat room quite a bit. It was moderated and you could block private messages if you didn't want to be hassled by individuals.

http://www.7cups.com/

7 Cups of Tea is really good for chatting to people when you just need someone to listen and talk to. They actually care about you and message you to ask if you're okay when you haven't been online in a while. I really recommend this site to anyone for anxiety, loneliness or depression. It's a mental health chatroom site with "listeners" which have all got their own ratings. Some even add you to Skype.
