Ok Easter and the Summer holidays are next so am thinking that we could all find some fun things to do and see near us, they don't have to just be local though, but anywhere that everyone can access whether by walking, car or public transport.

So lets have some fun finding some great things to do, I am sure as we have members all over that there will be lots of things for us to find.

Ok as this is my home town and is accessible to me am going to find some things for Manchester.

Museum of Science and Industry
Manchester Art Gallery
Peoples history museum
Manchester Museum
The Lowry Centre
Imperial war museum north
Heaton park
National football museum
Whitworth Gallery
Transport museum
Cornerhouse
Manchester Cathedral
Central library
John Rylands Library
The last two are amazing buildings

Transport in and around Manchester is really good and is more advisable than driving as apart from horendous traffice parking is expensive

There is loads to do here. I'm not sure if you've heard of the Wild Atlantic Way? But it's an idea to sell the West coast of Ireland as a tourist trail. From Donegal to Cork there is a road network that brings you close to the Atlantic while discovering the little towns and villages along the way. So I think I'll start with that; -
The Wild Atlantic Way
The Burren
Coole park
The Alliwee caves
The Burren Sanctuary
The Promenade in Killkey
Surfing On the Beach in Kilkee
Actually surfing on most of the beaches in the West.
Jumping off the diving tower in Salthill
Walking along the promenade in Salthill
Grabbing teddies in Seapoint
Spending the day in Clifden
The lovely drive out to Clifden
Spiddeal and the surrounding area
The Gealtach
Fish and Chips from McDonnagh's
The drive from Clifden to Westport
Westport house and gardens
Yeats County of Sligo
And more stuff up in Donegal that I don't know about.
Unfortunately I haven't taken the Wild Atlantic way yet but it is wonderful and changes every time you see it.
I hope this helps others.

PF google things to do in Surrey and Guildford and you will be surprised what is on, then make a list of the places here in this thread. We are making these lists for the areas we live in.

Other museums whose names I can't remember.
The seaside is very close, although a bit cold!

The usual bowling, laser quest, cinema etc.
Arctic Corsair
Spurn Lightship
And.......

The public toilets in the town centre!!!!!

Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently our toilets are pretty famous, tourists actually come to see them!

This is so awesome. Last year this little girl - Nandi, challenged the legendary Dave Grohl to a "drum off"... They had a few rounds and then this happened...
